Welcome to the CRC

“Even the smallest act of caring for another person is like a drop of water -it will make ripples throughout the entire pond.”

Community Resource Center (CRC)
The Community Resource Center (CRC) is dedicated to engaging with the local community and supporting the well-being of individuals and families throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley. Through caring, compassionate, face-to-face communication, qualified professionals help individuals access and utilize a variety of services, programs, and resources to address their unique needs.
Located within the House of Hope of Washington County, the CRC offers Peer Recovery Support, resource referrals, advocacy, assistance with applications for community resources, and connections to additional support services. CRC staff are State Certified Peer Recovery Supporters and Certified Community Health Workers who are knowledgeable about available community resources and trained to provide accurate information.
Our goal is not only to address immediate needs but also to help identify and address underlying challenges, increasing opportunities for long-term stability, recovery, and success.
Collaboration with House of Hope
The partnership between the Community Resource Center and the House of Hope of Washington County creates a unique opportunity to combine resource assistance with peer support, social engagement, and community reintegration.
By sharing a location, both organizations are able to work collaboratively to better serve individuals and families throughout the community. Individuals seeking assistance through the CRC can also become connected with the welcoming, supportive environment offered by the House of Hope.
House of Hope members and individuals from the surrounding community are encouraged to come together, build meaningful relationships, participate in peer-led groups and activities, share a hot meal, and enjoy opportunities for socialization. These experiences help reduce isolation, build confidence, encourage healthy relationships, and promote a sense of belonging.
This collaboration also allows staff from both organizations to coordinate referrals, share knowledge of available resources, and help individuals navigate challenges more effectively. While the CRC focuses on resource navigation, advocacy, and connecting individuals with community services, the House of Hope provides a safe, peer-driven environment that encourages recovery, personal growth, social connection, and independence.
Together, the House of Hope and the Community Resource Center work to bridge gaps in services, reduce barriers, and create a supportive pathway toward community involvement, stability, and long-term recovery.
Community Partnerships and Involvement
The Community Resource Center is actively involved in several community initiatives, programs, and collaborative efforts designed to strengthen support services throughout Washington County and surrounding communities.
These include participation in the Washington County Jail Re-Entry Program, helping individuals prepare for successful transitions back into the community; involvement with the Harm Reduction Clinic, promoting access to resources, education, and recovery support; and collaboration with NAMI Family Support and NAMI Connections, supporting individuals and families impacted by mental health challenges.
CRC staff also participate in various community groups, committees, and partnerships focused on addressing substance use, mental health, homelessness, recovery, and other social service needs.
Through these collaborations, the CRC strives to strengthen community connections, improve access to services, and ensure individuals and families receive the support they need.
New Matamoras Satellite Office
To further expand access to community resources, the Community Resource Center also operates a satellite office located at 602 Third Street in New Matamoras, Ohio.
This location provides individuals and families in New Matamoras and surrounding communities with access to resource navigation, advocacy, referrals, and assistance connecting with programs and services that meet their needs.
The satellite office also offers harm reduction materials to support community health, safety, and overdose prevention. Additionally, a confidential Narcan (naloxone) supply box is located on the property, providing access to this potentially lifesaving overdose-reversal medication while respecting individuals’ privacy.
By extending services into rural communities, the CRC continues its commitment to reducing barriers, improving accessibility, and ensuring individuals have opportunities to receive compassionate, nonjudgmental support closer to home.
